TN: Kilikanoon Killerman's Run Shiraz 2004

Post by winetastic »

Loads of dark fruits, plum and alcohol on the nose, the palate consists mostly of sweet plum or prune flavours with a little oak on the finish. Not much dryness to speak of here, a little tannin but mostly lingering sweetness. This Shiraz is a fruit monster that is out of balance and overripe.

Score: 5/10
Price: $17
Closure: Screwcap
Would I buy this wine again?
No, could not bring myself to finish the bottle.

Funny you should say this. I tried some of this at a restaurant with colleagues recently and was totally put off by the alcohol which seemed to dominate.

Inky to the extreme and far too rich and heavy for mine.

Not a style I favour but some of the others seemed to enjoy it.

2002

We were pouring the 2002 at a wine festival over the weekend and it was a huge hit. Lots of fruit/oak/alcohol but still a good drink. No screwcap for the 2002. Thanks - Rick :P
