G'Day !

First post here but I've been reading for many, many months as I've bought more and more wines from both Australia and New Zealand. I'm located most of the time in Santa Fe, New Mexico (southwestern United States).

A recent Los Angeles Times article spoke very positively of Annie's Lane, a Clare Valley winery. I bought the 2002 Riesling and a 1999 GSM (Coppertrail) blend that Southern Hemisphere Wines in California had imported.

Without witing a specific tasting note on each, I wasn't as "wild" about them as the newspaper writer. Both seemed modest wines.

Would appreciate any thoughts on the wines specifically and the winery in general.

Thanks in advance !

Bob,

In Oz the Annies Lane Shiraz is inexpensive and represents drinkable wine at an affordable price. It can be found for $15 in Oz (thats about US$10)

The Coppertrail Trial Shiraz is a high quality drop but not cheap.

Not sure what the prices are like in the US but I would be surprised if the value on the lower end wines are as good as they are here.

Should have included prices in original post; sorry.

'02 Annie's Lane Riesling was $ 12.99 (USD) and the '99 GSM Coppertrail blend was $ 19.99 (USD).
