Tasting Panel Opportunity

Hello

As you may know, here at auswine we run a tasting panel as one of the methods for testing and selecting wines to be stocked and promoted.

In this format, all wines are tasted and discussed as masked wines, then we look at the value for money of the wine, that is, what is it worth, as opposed to how much will it sell for.

While an informal gathering, the note taking and discussions are serious, even if the people aren't always. Often this is the key way in which I select wines for stocking!

Indeed we sometimes have guests, Troy Kalleske joined our last panel!

Interesting enough I suppose, but why post here?

Well, I am about to organise a new tasting panel, but one with a difference.

A super premium Barossa Valley producer, you know, stuff goes to the USA, Parker loves it etc etc is giving me samples to look at for potential stocking, promoting. However, they'd like to do something different.

Still served masked, he'd like to show me all the 2004 releases, then follow up with the 2005's also, so 2 vintages each of some 4 or 5 wines.

Sounds like great fun and very interesting, so I thought I'd like to open it up to make a slightly larger auswine panel for this, I think, unique experience.

It will be (probably) next weekend, say Friday or Saturday evening.

If you are interested in possibly joining us, and available in Adelaide on that night, please let me know and we can expand the tasting group, and perhaps your wine experience?

Please pm me or email etc.

Yours

By chance I will be in SA this weekend with a fellow wine traveller, but staying in the Barossa.

What times etc did you envisage this happening as we would like to help time and place permitting.

Gavin,

I may be able to swing it depending on date and time. I think I have a hockey game early Sunday so wouldn't want to get to bed too late on Saturday

Are you aware that it is a long weekend, the re-jigged Adelaide Cup long weekend ? So Sunday night is even a possiblity ?

Is this still going ahead?

Has an evening been picked yet? (from the advance forecasts Saturday could be a little hot & humid)

Cheers,
Ian

All systems go

This special auswine tasting panel tasting is happening

This Friday, 6 pm, National Wine Centre, in a private tasting room.

as below

Well, I am about to organise a new tasting panel, but one with a difference.

No cost, nothing to bring (what great value) and the chance as below.

(and a barrel sample from 2006 perhaps??)

Sounds like great fun and very interesting, so I thought I'd like to open it up to make a slightly larger auswine panel for this, I think, unique experience.

If you are interested in possibly joining us, and available in Adelaide on that night, please let me know and we can expand the tasting group, and perhaps your wine experience?

I am now needing actual numbers, so if you wish to attend, please email me so I can factor you in.

Hope to see/meet lots of you there!
