I found this being discussed on one of the overseas forums:

http://www.dallasobserver.com/Issues/20 ... ature.html

(The page takes a minute or so to load)

Sounds like a lesson to Australian retailers – why bother trying to offer good service, good advice and good prices when you can just be like this guy instead?

That article gave me a good laugh... especially the bit about Australia replicating French oak forests!

Only in America ....

I wonder how much a bottle of Linderman's Bin 50 shiraz is being flogged off at Tony's?

I can hear it now...You may not be aware of this, but Bin 50 means there was only 50 bottles made of this wonderous nectar, so you can understand when we say this is the deal of the century when we can sell it to you at the special price of $39.95, a savings of $20 off our regular price of $59.95. This is cheap for such an Australian shiraz, some of which will set you back over $100!

What do you think, did I miss my calling?

  Probably wouldn't get away with 50 bottles as they may sell more than that in one tasting  .... but maybe 50 cases would still be believable!! Also they would probably state that it tastes the same as Grange, but only stupid people buy Grange as they haven't discovered this little gem made by Lindeman's due to the fact that it doesn't get the write ups, publicity, etc that Grange attracts. Sounds plausable to me ...
