Then you probably have noticed they have started listing wines at all Australian wine sites without the GST. I asked them why this was so.
I received a response from www.wine-searcher.com. Because they had a query as to why some Aus site were GST-exclusive and some were GST-inclusive in their listings they took the initiative to remove the GST from all listings, claiming that a few Aus wine sites don't include GST on their own sites. Other than a few export-only specialist sites there should be very few as it is illegal to advertise GST-exclusive prices in Australia.
If you are a wine-searcher user and (like me) find this a retrograde step, please send your comments to Anne Welch at feedback@wine-searcher.com

Life's too short to drink white wine and red wine is better for you too! :-)

The same has been done for NZ wines. Many of the NZ stores do not sell off-shore, as it is crippingly expensive to send just a few wines overseas, so, like you, I find having GST removed not reflective of the price I would have to pay.
They list duty free shops, but these would not have GST on their prices anyway and no-one can shop there unless they are entering or leaving the country.
Out of the 193 stores listed, only 7 are stated as having world-wide delivery, but on checking one out - a winery - they said they don't sell from their online store to overseas customers but will supply names of agents.
In my opinion, you can't compare country to country prices - as exchange rate comes into play, so I don't see any point in removing GST.
A retrograde step.
Cheers,
Sue
