2004 Heartland Shiraz Gets the Gong

Post by Chuck »

Hi all,

This wine has won the highly regarded Advertiser/Hyatt wine of the year award. New wine from a group of prominant SA winemakers with a RRP of $18 - $20. I think our moderator and sponser Gavin has it for $16.00.

Stop Press!! Check out the "Buying wines - The Auswine shop". Price is $14.99 . Link below.

No surprise, Heartland are great VFM. The 2004 Shiraz is a real overdeliverer and good value at $20 but $15, a steal.
Cheers - Steve

Been trying to get my local wine shop to get these wines in. Told today that the distributor won't answer their emails. In a competitve market you can't afford to ignore people.

and if anything the Cabernet is possibly even better!

Well, my opinion anyway.

Both SERIOUSLY over deliver on any price under $20 pb.

Agree on the Cab, Gavin. I reckon it should have won the gong rather than the shiraz, a seriously good wine (especially at your price), but have found the Cab more to my palate. I've had two of each to check my preference. Only four of each left and  can't afford to buy more so will just have to try to leave the remainder of the case alone for a couple of years when I anticipate they'll be starting to hit their straps.
