2003 Vintage Keepsake wines

Post by Broughy »

Looking for some recommendations for wines for my daughters 18th / 21st. Appears not to be a great vintage and my usual staple of Seppelt St Peters is looming as a short supply wine. I believe Bordeaux was ok.

Looking in $30-$50 bracket for a doz or so and perhaps $100-$150 for a couple of special bottles.

I have put away some 2003 Seppelt Drumborg & Grosset Polish Hill, Leo Buring Leonay Rieslings.

Looking for reds

You may have to be patient in finding them but the 2003 Kalleske Johann Georg Shiraz really is very special.

Bit early to tell but there may be a Coonawarra or two that will fit the bill. The good thing is you don't have to rush these things, 2021 is a long way off!

You may get 03 Wendouree at good prices when they start turning up at auction- apart from the straight shiraz, the "others" can be not much more expensive than mailer prices.
