I have a low shoulder 1976 Grange.
I'd love to drink it if its OK rather then putting it to auction.
What are the chances that it will be OK to drink ?
THX in advance.

For that vintage with a low shoulder it would be very hit and miss....erring to the side of miss I'm afraid.

Cheers

Not too much point auctioning it as you will get very little for a low shoulder grange...open it...

I find grange to be quite resilient...

Take it to a Penfolds Red Wine Clinic. If it is good, you get to taste it and they top it up.

If it is bad, you get to drink it that evening (if possible) and you get to probably taste a good Grange while you are there!

Now I know where some of the money goes when you buy a Grange :P

PAS, Adair's advice re the Penfolds Wine Clinic is best - many auction houses (Langtons in particular) will not accept bottles at Low Shoulder in any case.

I opened a low shoulder 76 Grange a year ago and it was excellent. So I think you should open and try it. :P
