The Cullen Diana Madeline 01' was quite superb. Dark red colour, well balanced fruit, and smooth fine tannins, a wine that seemed matured beyond it's years. I'll be picking up another (or two) for the next holiday dinner.
Vasse Felix '99 Cabernet Sauvignon, Another delicious wine, bright red, nose more fruit forward some mulberry, and a bit coarser tannins, thoroughly enjoyable, another 6 ordered.
Peter lehmann Eight songs 2000, purple, dense and dark, plums, not spicy but mybe smoky and some chocolate. Nice finnish with fine tannins. Great Shiraz.
Not a bad night, the high light, definitely the Cullen and it's extra long cork?
Cheers,
Mick.

"Compromises are for relationships, not wine."
I had a 2001 Cullen DM a while back and it was a wonderful wine that I thought had a long future.
1999 & 2001 in WA are living up to the hype about them.
Has anyone had the 2001 Vasse Felix Heytesbury yet, I'm interested in impressions as I've liked this label since it's debut in the 1995 vintage and don't want to break open my six pack just yet.

If you can see through it, it's not worth drinking!

The cullen, I have no doubt it'll last longer than I can wait. What I meant was it was the most balanced wine I have tried. It was not too this or too that, just a really good wine I could imagine drinking with anything, I had it with my favorite, BBQ lamb chops and mint sauce. I certainly believe it'll be good for another 10 to 15 years. As for when it'll hit it's peak I can not imagine, if it get's much better I'll be kicking myself for not getting a case or two.
Steve, I'm still thinking about the Heytesbury, I can pick up another Cullen DM for $5.00 more... any sugestions / advice?
