Mark Best has done it again. A truely wonderful night enjoying his creation matched by some excellent selection of wines.
The most memerable dish has to be the lobster butter, parmesan custard with lobster cracker. The grilled pignon with black truffle was devine as well.

Gosset Champagne Grand Reserve Brut
Pale yellow in colour with a very consistence mousse. The aroma is of summer fruit and citrus. On the palate, it is creamy and delicious. Citrus predominate with a hint of lemon zest. The balance is just spot on. The acidity, fruit and palate works a treat. A very enjoyable wine indeed
the 1st white was a semillon followed by a chardonnay.
Mount Pleasant Lovedale Semillon 1995
With its 10 years bottle age, this wine is just into its puberty. Clean, very light golden colour releasing apple, lemon and a hint of honey bouquet. The palate is consistent with the nose showing a very faint sign of maturity. The acidity is lively and balanced. A very enjoyable wine, but will continue to improve.
Domaine Bonneau De Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 1993
An elegant flinty nose exhibits floral, buttery aroma that leads to a palate of wonderfully pure, ripe pear and apple with a racy minerality permeating throughout, but with more restraint than Puligny-Montrachet or Chassagne-Montrachet. Medium-Full Bodied with a long finish. A fantastic wine.
Here are the reds
Chateau Leoville Barton Saint Julien 1998
One of my favourite producer of Bordeaux wines. This wine was decanted an hour prior to serving. The first red of the night. As soon as I had a sniff of the wine, I knew this is going to be WOTN. It did not disappoint. With its dense purple impenetrable colour only revealing itself over a table light the 1998 Leoville Barton congested the nose with crème de cassis and fine leather aroma. It is soft and round and not very tannic which was a real surprise considering its age. The palate is showing predominately cassis and berry. The soft richness of the fruit is underpinned by silky tannins and well balanced acidity. A excellent wine to drink now, but will hold for a decade or more no doubt
Oralndo Jacaranda ridge 1994
This wine is a block buster. It is bold and big. I can almost cut it with a knife. Upon nosed the wine, all I can smell was dark black fruit overpowering all my senses. On the palate, the plum and black fruits are supported by a load of gripping tannins that coats your mouth instantly. This is definitely Australian
