Regional Vintage Charts for Australia

Post by jayhawker »

Can anyone point me to an ONLINE region by region vintage chart for Australia that you find to be reliable? I know some of you out there think such charts are pointless, so feel free to bash me if you must.
Cheers!

www.langtons.com.au

Go to Tools, there is a vintage chart by region for Australia.

Sean, whilst I hate vintage variations, I've found the Langtons chart quite useful. As always there'll be wines that are above or below the region general rating every vintage. This forum can often provide more detail on an individual wine so never be afraid to ask.

I'm sure the Langtons chart is a good indication, however one rating has me scratching my head, based on various reports here. Langtons rate Yarra cabernet 2002 10/10 but I have heard damning reports of cabernet for 2002 in the Yarra Valley. Too cold for efficient ripening etc. I know there are specific regional exceptions to every rule, but i wouldn't mind knowing myself, as I am thinking of picking up some Wantirna Cab 02 soon.

cheers,

David M.

I would have thought so too David, 02 was pretty bloody cold. 02 in the Yarra was kind to the burgundy varieties though,
