:)

Was hoping one of you knowledgable wine enthusiasts could answer a question for me.

I have recently received a bottle of 1972 Marienberg Shriaz Cabernet and wanted to get some information on it and if I should bother opening her up. The reason I say this is due to the cork showing a bit of bleeding.

The wine is from the Coromandel Valley South Australia. Is anyone aware of the winery and what name is it trading under now, if at all.

Cheers!

Welcome!

Marienberg is still operating, but not with the same people from around 1972 (Ursula Pridham was winemaker then) and I suspect the Coromondel vineyards are now residential suburbia.

The wine may still be alive if you are very lucky, but is probably not in good condition if the cork has been leaking. There is only one way to find out and there is no use waiting any longer.

Thanks Red,

As soon as the first born arrives in August, we'll be cracking it open. We better have another on the interchange bench though!

Thanks again.
