Hi all,

Received a joke email recently suggesting men take their wine too seriously as apposed to women who , like my dearest, just like to drink the stuff and knows what she likes. Her objective comments sometimes knock me back but on the whole she a good barometer of what is good. Are there any of the opposite sex who have any comment to make? It would appear this is a male oriented forum further confirming my fears.

All I can say is.....I find my wife an excellent barometer for a good wine. Probably doesn't go into the detail but hey, if you enjoy it and can tell the difference, I can't see a problem with that.

I would really like to be a registered member of the forum but I have registered previously as the forum knows about my email addy so I can't re-register. In this instance I am instructed to contact the administrator but can't find who that is. Can someone please tell me how to sort this out as I would very much like to talk wine...

For a start, your name in the members list didn't have an underscore after it .

There are a few girls on the forum and we certainly take our wine as seriously as anyone. I certainly have many friends of the female variety that take quite an interest but I think to get really serious, it takes a reasonably serious fiancial commitment so I guess it may ultimately come down to who holds the purse strings.

Either way I get errors of some description. One will say I am inactive, the says, email addy already in use. Can someone please sort this out so I can join what I see as an excellent list to be apart of.

women and wine are the PERFECT combination....and frankly, I personally more concerned how they treat their lingere than their wines...

My wife, Ann, enjoys the analysis, but usually when there are no distracting guests about. Sitting around on a Sunday evening, listening to some cool acid jazz in the lounge room before I go and slave away in the kitchen (the weekend cooking is my job if not going out) we both enjoy picking a wine to pieces. She has a good nose and a good sense of imagery - often the different perspective and different verbal queues used can be enlightening.

I might now get off this thread before someone takes a potshot at Serge. Could be dangerous in the vicinity about now. Not that I don't appreciate good lingerie but you're on your own Serge!

I have spent an awful lot of time tracking down albums from the early '90's when the very best acid jazz was produced in the UK, bands like the Brand New Heavies, James Taylor Quartet, Rose Windross. There are some great compilation albums from the period put out by Acid Jazz Recordings. The more recent, mostly instrumental or strongly R&B flavoured Acid Jazz from the US is not to my taste - I prefer 'songs'.

However, I won't hog the thread, I'll track down some useful links to albums and send them to you by email.
