A deep, dark opaque purple color. The nose is a complex offering of stewed rhubarb, rasberry and nutmeg with underlying nuances of eucalyptus and black cherry. The palate is mouthfilling with a firm knife of tannins and a good dose of lively acid that cuts through and holds up the layers of intense fruit. Balanced with pleasing complexity and a finish that lingers on the palate for quite some time, this wine will improve nicely with at least another 5 years in the cellar.
