Mark

The Courier Mail (daily statewide) has a wine page in the Good Life section on a Tuesday. Brisbane News (weekly colour freebie) has a wine report.

In Perth...honestly there is only a Thursday Food+Wine special in the West Australian. That's it.

We only have two newspapers here in Perth anyway, I just buy the Australian every day, reading the West just makes me sad.

Mark,

Perth has only one paper the West Australian which therefore can lay claim to having both the best and the worst food and wine supplement.

The WestÂ’s supplement appears in WednesdayÂ’s paper and is called Fresh, which broadly covers a food and wine. The Fresh supplement is a couple of color pages, which review a couple restaurants and a wine or two, but is largely devoted to recipes. For me it rarely inspires as it tries to be all things to all peopleÂ… a noble thought but it does not hit my mark.

There is a good monthly magazine called Scoop, which is an all round entertainment guide to Perth. Scoop is broken up into discrete sections so if you want to read restaurant or wine reviews you can skip over the fashion and theater (etc) sections and get some intelegent reading about the local food and wine scene.
