2002 Oscar Semmler?

Did a search to find a couple of good notes on the 2002, any other thoughts on this wine? Found a few bottles up here for what is a pretty reasonable price in US dollars, although probably a bit high by standards there (about AUS$ 62).

Thanks,
Alan

Here's another thought - bloody good wine!

Haven't had it since release but it rocked me then so tucked my six pack away for a few years.

I had a 2002 St.Jakobi with lunch for my birthday yesterday and found it an excellent example of top quality Barossa Shiraz. Brought home 1/3 of the bottle which I'll finish tonight.

The Oscar Semmler is a pearler and is even better with some time in the dungeon.

Excellent wine, had both the 2002 and 2003 yesterday. Excellent balance and intensity, like Mark said, it just needs some time.

Cheers

Where are you finding the 2002 Oscar? It was one of the best wines we tasted during the 5-6 days we were in the Barossa last December and I've been keeping a lookout for it. Got a great deal on 2001 that was going cheap due to a change in distributor. The 2002 St Jak is excellent as well.
