Full red colour. Red Cherries, sap, earth and a touch of VA on the nose. The palate builds a bit with time, red cherries initially, then more black cherry and even blackcurrant, and (a surprise to me) some chocolate, and then plum and even purple jubes on the palate. Quite a full palate which is more syrup than silk, and on the finish is some rosewater, before a strong tannic grip reaches out and grabs you. This is very ripe and full for such a cold vintage on the Peninsula. I can understand the speculation there might be shiraz in this.
There is heaps to keep you interested in this wine, and this is very nice, 89/100.
