Just wondering if the following wines are worth buying and cellaring for 5-10+ years

1998 Wirra Wirra RSW Shiraz ($50)
1998 Petaluma Coonawarra ($60)
1996 Penfolds Bin 28 ($34)
1998 Penfolds Bin 28 ($30)
1996 Penfolds Bin 389 ($50)
2000 d'Arenberg 'Dead Arm' ($67)
1996 Devil's Lair Cabernet Blend ($50)
1998 Cullen Cabernet Merlot ($95)

Would love to know what you all think

1998 Wirra Wirra RSW Shiraz ($50) Drnking beautifully now, why wait?
1998 Petaluma Coonawarra ($60) Buy/ Hold
2000 d'Arenberg 'Dead Arm' ($67) Avoid. A weak Dead Arm on a lesser year.
1998 Cullen Cabernet Merlot ($95) Avoid. Buy the 2001 or '99. For wines $50+ be selective. Only buy only on exceptional vintages.

1998 Wirra Wirra RSW Shiraz ($50) Yes but probably starting to enter it's drinking window. I'd buy the 2002 at a lesser price, it's a better wine.
1998 Petaluma Coonawarra ($60) Maybe
1996 Penfolds Bin 28 ($34) Yes, I've got a spare case well cellared for alot less than that if you want it!
1998 Penfolds Bin 28 ($30) Too expensive
1996 Penfolds Bin 389 ($50) Yes, this is a great wine with years ahead of it.
2000 d'Arenberg 'Dead Arm' ($67) NO, overpriced and a poor year, 98, 01, 02
1996 Devil's Lair Cabernet Blend ($50) NO, ditto, 99 or 01
1998 Cullen Cabernet Merlot ($95) NO, ditto, 99 or 01

2000 Charles Melton, Nine Popes ($40)
1998 Cape Mentelle, Cabernet Sauvignon ($60)
2000 Cape Mentelle, Shiraz ($33)
1999/2000 Charles Melton, Grenache ($23)

No good deals or any worth cellaring amongst that lot. Value is just not there and several are lesser vintages in WA & the Barossa.

If it is SPAM for Liquid Assets then you're plugging the wrong wines! If it's not SPAM I could suggest better places to find suitable wines. Send me your e-mail address and I'll tell you where.
