Alc: 13%
A ruby/violet color. A pleasing nose of plum, some chocolate and fine malty oak, earth and blackcurrant. At first the palate is quite gripping and aggressive, clenching the throat with earthy blackberry and pepper.Putting it aside for an hour, when I came back to it, it had definately bloomed. The tannins had softend slightly and gave way to some lovely richly flavoured sweet licorice and plums with good body and a meaty complexity. The initial impression was a wine that was giving its fruit away to its tannins but then displayed some very appealing and lingering complexity after a short decanting time, a good wine.
