Restaurant Review: D'Arry's Verandah, McLaren Vale - SA

Post by rooview »

Good day all - not sure if this is appropriate but considering that it's a) at a winery, b) involves having a drink it must qualify. :D

Visited D'Arry's on Easter Sunday and enjoyed an excellent meal (considering Easter... the asparagus wasn't too fresh but otherwise near perfect).

Read the review at:

Please let me know if this kind of thing isn't appropriate here...

Kind regards
Adrian

So, how many 'Roos' did you give it? Perhaps a bit of work needed on your review style.

Michelin stars, Hats and now Roo...too confusing.

Roo Ted:- firstly, best username I've seen! 8) Your right - for some reason the final score hasn't appeared. Will get on to that tonight. When you mentioned working on the review style could you elaborate further? Feel free to send me an email with your thoughts if you prefer - info@rooview.com.au

Gourmand: Ultimately, it's a rating out of three. As a small personal project it's not ever going to compete with either Michelin or SMH. Sticking to stars alone may be the safest bet but doesn't tie in with the site name. Thanks for your thoughts...

For your information a review of Grange restaurant will be posted tonight.

Kind regards.

And don't forget capital letters, full stops and spaces in notes. :P But people in glass houses should't walk around in the nude, so I won't mention it.

The style thing was about the lack of a clear score. The review in Good Living is quite good in that if you don't have time to read it all, you can quickly glance over the summary or simply look at the score. A summary box with the roo score would seem like a good idea for your page.

Summary scores have now been added.

Grange restaurant review has also been posted.

I'm not entirely happy with the writing style on the Grange review - anyone care to provide constructive crticism?
