How good are these?
We have a few cases at home and unsure of the current value.

Cheers.

No sure about the current "market value" but sure it's depreciating by the day.

This wine has seen better days.

for what reason would the value decrease?
sorry, I'm not much of a wine connoisseur.

At Langtons auction the last sale this year was $35 + 15% commission ie. $40.

Note I wouldn't pay that much.
Cheers

The value could decrease as the wine is from a "lesser" vintage and is now 13 years old. Depending on cellaring conditions it could be starting to fade by now, increasing the risk of buying and thus reducing the price people may be willing to pay.

I only bought 3 of these on release just to keep a line going and thought it was going nowhere when I drank the last one last year.

Bought one and one only to make sure I'd tried the lot, and this is possibly the worst (along with the 95 ??) 389 since the 80's. I even preferred those relative failures from 1999-2001 inc.

I wouldn't pay $20 for them.

I think the general consensus is send them to auction and use the proceeds to buy some better wines - hopefully you'll probably get more than you paid for them.

I think 95 is actually a suprise. Its not a 94 or 96 etc but its not too bad.

Fatboy, sorry to disagree with you again,
  but like the Guest, I also think the '95 is a surprise package.

I tried this wine with friends at a restaurant over the Xmas period and thought it was fantastic. I don't know if I posted a tasting note at the time (or whether I was even a member at that stage), but all three diners found the wine rich, beautifully made and in a perfect drinking window. I was considering buying a few at auction but had access to some elsewhere.

Cheers,
