2003 Greenock Creek Cornerstone Grenache

Good depth of raspberry and blackberry jam that to its credit does not cloy at all, despite being in the sweet as opposed to savoury mould. Excellent winemaking. A little spice and savouriness is there providing interest but it is still quite simple. Good length although the depth is noticeably greater on the front. Very smooth and non-cloying, its structure and mouthfeel are the wine's highlights. A very good Australian Grenache. Drink now. 17.2/20.

I showed this blind recently and it blew people away. Lovely integrated oak, that to me lifts it above simple giving it extra complexity. It's 16.5% alcohol, and no-one picked that up blind-it really is very well balanced.
This is always overlooked from Greenock Creek, yet is very consistent indeed and very fairly priced.
