2002 Eden Hall Cabernet Sauvignon – Eden Valley, South Australia
A little heavy handed but high quality French oak use provides vanilla and caramel on top of a deep and ripe base of dark fruits: blackcurrant, dark plum, blueberry and blackberry with a slight hint of confected fruit. There is a hint of dustiness and a little Cabernet complexity if you look hard. The wine is long, smooth, rich, seamless and very enjoyable, but not serious enough for its price tag. 17.3/20. ($29 RRP)
