Last night opened a Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna 2002. Plum and cinnamon on the nose with the palate having no shortage of sweet fruit though certainly not port like. It appeared to have a lemon type acidity there but no bitterness at all. Finish of acceptable length and great for the price. 93 points now but if the acidity can diminish as much as 95 down the track.

I will also add that its a welcome return to their pre-1998 form.

Well, what can I say but 'ditto'. Also tried this last night, initially the acid tartness was just overbearing (served slightly too warm, can't have helped). With an hour of breathing it really opened and softened up, excellent depth of flavour and I thought very good length. A wee bit too young to try yet maybe
