What's the story with these wines?

I lusted after them for years after reading the reviews of the 98 McShane's Block and Alexander's Block but they were always out of my normal purchasing range of late $teens / low $20's. I finally forced myself to buy a 2001 McShane's Block when the price dropped to $31 but I had been waiting around for a discount price for 3 years.

Now Kemenys have been selling them for $19.99 and even my local wine/bottle shop is selling McShane's and O'Dea's for $24.95.

Why are these wines that for 4 years were never discounted suddenly marked down so dramatically?

And, can anyone give me comments on 01 McShane's Block and 02 O'Dea's Block?

Ratty, Jamiesons Run must have the biggest mishmash of labels of any winery, it's bewildering.

That said, there are however some gems amongst all those labels, including the single vineyards and the 2000 Winemakers Selection (the one that has a stack of trophies from the Limestone Coast Show).

Can't help with the O'Deas but the 2001 McShanes is very good. I've now bought the 2001 McShanes and the 2000 Winemakers Selection.

I'd suggest the price drop is to clear warehouse stock before they get too many vintages behind. The same wines appeared here in Adelaide too at the heavily discounted prices, might even be a touch cheaper than Kemeny's. The Winemakers is down from $50+ to $27.
