Hi Everyone.

Have not visited for a while, long cold winter up here! New wine has showed up from said winery...'02 Old Bush Vine Grenache. Also some cabs, any comments. Thanks

It's a good coincidence I was at the CD last Wednesday, and put a pretty good dent in my credit limit buying their reds.

All of the 2002s were on tasting apart from the Cabernet Sauvignon which was sold out - I was lucky enough to get the last two bottles in town from the local hotel.

The 2002 Old Vine Grenache is a ripper, with good weight, musky/dusty fruit and fine powdery tannins. It's opened up a lot in the last year, but still needs breathing time to sing - the CD bottle this time was open about 6 hours.

The standard Old Vine Shiraz is a ripper for the price, and I was also very impressed with the new Grenache Shiraz Cinsaut blend. The Hubertus is way too young, and needs serious time to settle down yet.

Cheers
Ian

Was there late last year and visited their cellar door to try something different and was glad I did, thought the bush vine Grenache was excellent for a straight Grenache and the Cabernet, and Shiraz very good also. Also ended up with an unexpected hole in the credit card and expect they will become regular purchases for me in the future.
