Majella 2002 Cab Sauv
100% Cabernet Sauvignon. A very opaque, deep crimson colour. Was drunk in two sittings. First time round, I picked up blueberry and leather characteristics on the nose. After watching the wine evolve over 18 hours, it may have been a little closed initially as well. Second round was full of blackcurrant, mint/eucalyptus and liquorice. The palate was big on both occasions, rippling with fruit and oak. Tannins that were 'loud and proud' but not volatile added to a dry finish. I think this wine is exceptional value at $30 and should be cellared and not touched for five years. Definitely has at least ten in it.
Cheers,
