Just thought that I would mention that I purchased a mixed case of the Weihenstephan beers off Gavin about three weeks back, and have been immensely enjoying these ever since.
If like me, you are getting a bit tired of the mass produced brands like Corona, Becks, Carlsberg etc, then I highly suggest giving your taste buds a well deserved and pleasant surprise for Xmas.
That's not to say the big brands don't have their place, sure whip one down to quench the thirst by all means, but like good wine the Weihenstephan beers need to be savoured.
WHAT...five bucks a bottle!
To put it short, who gives a damn! The way I justified it was simple, I can spend $5-6 in a pub buying a local beer that I can buy at the bottle-o for $1.50...so it pretty much works out the same.
I was also a bit unsure of the fact that there are some wheat beers in there, however I have enjoyed these the most out of all, even surpassing the superb pilsener.
I can't say enough how good these beers are, AND they come in 500ml bottles - just perfect. In fact, I can hear one calling my name now.
