2002 Peter Lehman The Barossa Cab Sav

Post by markg »

Yum, what a nice suprise. When opened the nose simply burst from the bottle. A deep crimson color with perfumed aromas of wild berry, cinnamon, sage, basil, violets and truffle. A medium bodied, concentrated, balanced wine with integrated tannins and nice flavours of espresso coffee, licorice, hints of dark chocolate and black olives. Nicely structured and pleasingly complex, there are undercurrants of sweet plums and blackfruits running beneath the more forward savoury flavours.
Cheers

I totally agree Mark, and at a very nice price-point too :)
I liked the pretty oak blanket that wrapped up the black fruit, but I'd suggest a 2 hour decant for this to open up. The Shiraz is nice too.
