Ok, nuffin fancy for the first one back:

What's the wine (name and year please)?

I gave a couple a clues last night, here's another couple:

According to (name withheld), this wine displays the hallmark characters of smokey, dark chocolate associated with classic (variety withheld).

The wine was aged in American oak.

It comes from a region renowned for this variety.

Another clue:

The winemakers aim for this particular drop was to create "a wine style of rich varietal flavour and intensity, approachable at time of release, with the ability to develope further complexity ..."

Ok, a bit more:

Yields for this vintage were generally below average but quality was good. At the time the region's flagship variety was said to be 'exceptional,' with rich, ripe fruit characters and fine tannins, however, I think a straw pool if taken now would question such statements. The season in the area commenced with cool, moderate conditions in spring, which led to uneven fruit set, particularly ‘my’ variety, reducing potential yield. The season also experienced below average temperatures during early summer, but mid-summer saw temperatures rise encouraging vegetative growth with excellent leaf coverage and minimal vine stress. Intense heat in February and early March delayed vintage. This unusual vintage weather was followed by an extended period of dry, warm 'Indian summer' conditions which encouraged gradual maturation and the development of flavour and sugar levels, without the threat of disease or rain.

I'm certainly thinking Barossa Shiraz, 1999 or 2003. Maybe Kalleske 2003 Shiraz.

Sheeez, turn your back for 5 minutes to do some work and look what happens. OK, Mark, Paul and Kieran, your all pretty much on the right track, but don't forget the original question: Wine name and year.

well that puts the winemaker in the same "class" as Glaetzer and Godfrey, but probably only Duval fits the rest of the clues...

John Glaetzer was making wine before 1974.

John Duval joined Penfolds in 1974 at Nuriootpa in the Barossa Valley.

With lunctime rapidly approaching, yep, my tummys' rumblin, more clues are needed:

For what its worth, I wasn't expecting too much from this wine, but it surprised me with its intensity and full fruit flavours, drinking close to its optimal time it will nontheless cellar for another 5 years.

I don't know much about this wine.

Henschke Keyneton Estate Euphonium

72% shiraz, 20% cabernet sauvignon and 8% merlot grapes grown in the Barossa (Eden Valley and Barossa Valley).

Ok, this ought to do it, but I will only confirm when the correct vintage is stated, there should be enough vintage clues above (?).

Oh, and while I'm in a generous mood another clue:

The fruit for this wine comes off vines 70 - 100 years old

2001 The Willow's Bonesetter Shiraz

This winery claims to have forged a reputation as masters of this variety

doh forgot-Bonesetter French Oak.

The Jim Barry Armagh shiraz 1999?

I think not, unless Jim Barry have started sourcing from Barossa and Eden Valleys.
