4th 2004 CLUB DINNER – ACCENT ON WHITES (Full Report)
Hello All,
The fourth Club dinner of 2004 was held on Saturday, 13th November 2004. This Club dinner was to have an accent on white wines, and fortunately for all attendees, great generosity was shown and some great wines were experienced.
Attendees were: Attila, David Pearson, David Lole, Kieran, Laszlo and Adair. The evening was hosted by David. Focussing on seafood, David displayed great skill. In fact, so good were the dishes presented by David, the self-confessed Master Chef, David, commented:
He is a bloody good cook. In fact, he is better than me!
Some Proof
More Proof
Like all Club dinners, wines were served blind with spot-on and discussion ensuing before trivia and options are given until the wineÂ’s identity is known.
1995 DOM PERIGNON Cuvee – Epergne, Champagne
Apples, floral, lemon, toast, yeast, white minerals and hops all jumping out of the glass on to the palate with some sweet developed broadness. Very deep. Profound. Long. Perfect, bright, fine acid under a smooth palate. Powerful and controlled. Absolutely sensational wine. Rated Outstanding/Ultimate.
I have had this wine on numerous occasions, but this bottle shows that this wine is now starting to show its great class, and will do so for many years.
Near Perfection
