Buller"s "Rocket Fuel" Calliope 2002 - Gavin thought I'll love this wine but I found it too sweet for my liking. Considering all the hoopla, weighting in at 16% I expected a brute, minus the fangs. This is more Amarone than the Joseph Moda or Mitolo Serpico. No wonder Rutherglen is reknown for their "sweet wines"
Dead Arm 2002 - Less profound than their beastly 2001, has much better depth & concentration than their 2000. True to form and synonmynous with the Dead Arm's tradition. How can this wine be faulted is beyond me.
Veritas Hanisch 2002 - Balance, finese and classy. A bit too civilised for me. A Eillen Hardy(style) from the Barossa if you get my driff....
Magpie Election 2002 - Very similar in profile as the Hanisch abeit more muscular. For the $, this wine outperformed the flagship.
Noon's Cab 2002(bought fr Wickman) - my 2nd tasting. Smelt like a Shiraz, tasted likewise but who cares. As a wine, it raptures my senses and send me into orbit. 100 point for pleasure, 0 point for typicity.
