'02 Curlewis Chardonnay.

Thought I'd follow this up after the '02 Reserve Pinot, and a corked bottle of the Chardonnay last week.
Overall a very good Chardonnay, very good to drink with obvious quality imputs. Well handled oak. Good winemaking.
The problem I have with it, and keep it in perspective, it is agood wine, is that it is quite powerfull and forward, no elegance at all. Which is not so bad if you're comparing a Pierro or other warmer climate wine with it. Only it comes from a cool climate.
It reminds me of the '02 Yabby Lake, lacking that legance and tightness I expect from young good cool climate chardonnays, chardonnays that speak of what is to come, not what is now.
Is this the typicity to expect from '02 Chardonnays across the board?
Time for another glass.
