When I first joined this forum several years ago I mentioned that I had become a partner in a small vineyard with some other “oldies’ (three couples in our 60s) and that our aim was to make the great Australian shiraz before departing this world. A number of members expressed interest and asked to be kept posted. Well it took time, but the time has come. In May we released our second vintage: Brick Kiln Shiraz 2003 and I am happy to report that it is delicious. Reviewers seem to agree also.

The recent Winestate review reads as follows:

An intense, inky licorice and plum wine with a huge concentration of pepper and spice on both the nose and the palate. A lovely tannin structure creates a smooth velvety mouthfeel. "Delicious" enthused one judge.

On Oct 9 it was reviewed in the Weekend Australian; The Max Allan write up said
"If you hanker for the big ferruginous, blackstrap McLaren vale reds of
yore, you'll love this full-bodied, pitch purple shiraz with its tarry , oak
pumped bramble-jammy richness and sturdy tannic backbone.
