Had a chance to open a bottle and try it over two days...

On opening the nose was tight (no suprise) but showed some spice and something hidden underneath, like it was waiting to get out, something latent.
The palate was also relatively tight but showed very good sweet unforced fruit (something I find uncommen in OZ Pinot) and excellent length followed by more of the five spice.
The thing that amazes me about this wine is it is only 13.1% alc. Now thats pretty low considering the layers of sweet fruit, and with absolutely no greeness or harshness from it's "maximum extraction" (from the label).
24 hours later, the wine had opened up markedly, but again the suprise was it had no hints of falling apart, which would be a difficult ask of much of our Pinot's. The nose was complex and deep, as was the palate, which had enourmous length and persistance.
I loved the wine. I believe it will age very well, but it ain't cheap now is it?.

Also tried the Chardonnay '02 but it was corked, but not enough to show some very powerfull fruit underneath.
