I noticed that Spiegelau Authentis and Grande are on sale - reduced from $70 and $60 respectively to $40 for 4 glasses - see
http://www.petersofkensington.com.au/
Has anyone used either style , particulalrly the burgundy glass?
Cheers

Apparently it is spelt: Spiegelau
This is needed to find the glasses if anyone is interested.

Thanks Adair - my children would very much appreciate you picking me up on my spelling
Have edited the original post - now have you tried them viz Reidel?

Paul,
No, I have not but I am most interested. I am a Riedel user but have found my Riedel habit to be getting expensive and I am not able to give everyone the same Riedel glass when I have dinner parties at home.
I am most interested as to what people think about:
* Vino Grande Bordeaux
* Vino Grande Red
* Authentis Bordeaux
I want to buy some but which one?
Please help.

Thanks Ric. I presume your comment can be taken as a recommendation for the Grande Bordeaux. Yes?
Is the glass in your photo a Riedel Shiraz?

I love them. I use the VG Bordeaux (also called the Red Magnum) and Burgundy, and actually prefer them to the Riedels. Haven't used the Authentis, which I think might be a competitor to the Riedel Extreme range ?
Lots of pretty pics at the Spieg website -

I got 6 Spiegelau as part of a purchase of Rufus Stone. They are excellent quality and we use them most nights. Not the cheapie variety that was advertised recently at a Sydney store.

Hi Paul,
I bought 8 (Authentis) at that price 2 months ago. I love them, however, despite being cheaper, they are also easier to break thanb Riedel and I have already broken 2!
Agree they are great Christmas presents.
