Katnook Sauvignon Blanc 1981 - Don't look Ric

Today I tasted a classic. A Katnook 1981 Sauvignon Blanc left over from another of those famous Brisbane dinner tastings. Absolutely delightful wine. Who said OZ whites are not meant to cellar. Bring on more of this.
Back to reds tonight Ric - I promise - 1998 Penley Phoenix C/S.

Forgot to mention. Also tasted the Katnook Odyssey 1998 & 2000 and a 1989 Botrytis Chardonnay.

Tried a bargain bin Jamiesons Run SB 2001 a few weeks ago - aged characters, some interest but no cigar. The Katnook sounds interesting. Do Katnook still produce this varietal?

Katnook still make a SB. I don't think it's made for 20 year aging, though.

The Odysseys were impressive as you would expect, and maybe I liked the 2000 best. Different wines but not just the 2 years. I would help anyone drink either of these at any time.
The 1989 Botrytis was a little donuty but pleasant enough.
The 1981 S/B had a nose like an aged riesling without the AvGas. If you liked aged rieslings you would have loved this.
