Hello all,
It has been a while since I last posted and am very much missing the Auswine scene.
I am currently in Budapest and having a couple of weeks in Hungary. I am wondering if Attila or anyone else can recommend any special wine visits, good wine shops or even a special restaurant.
I haven't yet been able to arrange a taste of that 93' Pajzos Estate Tokaji Esszencia!
Regards
Andy

Hi Andy!
Good for you!
Please go to the Bortársaság wine shop near you and try the following:
1.GERE Olaszrizling 2003
Brand new release, an easy and beautiful aromatic dry white. Top wine at 1250 ft.
2.HÉTSZŐLŐ Hárslevelű Hatputtonyos Aszú 1999
This Tokaji will blow your mind and vallet. Superb at 8.500 ft.
3.TIFFAN'S Várerdő Pinot Noir 2001.
From Villány region. Stunning, super expensive wine, only 500 bottles made, good luck to find one at 8.500 ft. Do not buy any other vintages.
4.GYÖRGYKOVÃ

Attila,
Are any of these wines available in Australia that you know of ?

Yes...and no. My cellar is packed with the good stuff (especially now as I've only returned from overseas) however these wines listed are mostly limited quantity wines. They only get as far as the U.K. market so I don't believe you can find any of them in Australia.
As Hungary is now part of the European Union, they've begun exporting to the USA but not to Australia as they are well aware that we are absolutely flooded with reasonably priced very good wines.
Cheers,
Attila
