I really enjoyed the 2001 of this wine and was looking forward to this release and was very pleased that it held its own and even surpassed my expectations.
The wine was a dark, opaque purple color with a glorious nose of ashphalt, licorice and rich, juicy red berrys. It cascaded over the palate with intense, mouth filling flavors of black fruits and dark chocolate, finishing with lovely rounded, powdery tannins and searing fruit cake flavours that persisted long after the wine was swallowed. Excellent, highly recommend!
