d'Arenburg The Ironstone Pressings GSM 1999

A Grenache 70% Shiraz 25% Mourvedre 5% blend.
Chocolate, tobacco, liquorice and spice hints with raspberry fruit on the nose..a concentrated palate follows thru with ripe fruit flavours..some savoury nuances (or rustic as d'Arenburg puts it) appearing but this wine is still young..it needs a few more years to get some complexity.A reasonably powerful GSM with a decent finish of powdery tannins..i rate it 90 points and strongly question its price tag of $65..wtf?There is no way this wine is worth the price.Very poor value.
Give me the 99 Rockfords Moppa Springs for $22 anyday.
Good wine but should be no more than $30..and that would be stretching it.
Cheers
