Early evening (where IMO the best wine should be drunk) Snail.
As the evening moves on the slump sets in, the taste buds are pretending, and the cheaper bottles come out, the fish takes over.

Definitely a tortoise. The rest of the table is usually drinking twice as fast as I am. If I have a second glass from a bottle, that means I really like it.

Snail for sure.
What really bugs me is when the Rabbit actually throws the head back and you see the 'Glug Glug' motion on the throat.
Many great wines I have shared with friends and family have suffered this fate. It is a great waste and very frustrating.

If the wine is really something I will play with it, sip, sniff ,swirl see how it developes. If it is just a quaffer will take it at a faster rate.
One time I remember at a wine shop about two years ago when I was looking for the new release Cullens Cab/Merlot , I asked if it had come in yet and the reply was yes, would you like to try. The bottle was half full and had been opened about 10 hours. On that occasion I was a snail, marvellous.

Ron.
