G'day
Decanted about 45 minutes before service. Very deep purple colour.
A voluptuous nose, with considerable black and red berries and plums (both dark and red) . It's almost heady with spices (cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg), vanilla, a touch of leather polish. The palate is full without being overly rich, and there's some coffee / mocha alongside predominantly red fruits. There's a strong line of acid running the length of the tongue, and tannins are quite well integrated. Very long finish and the wine is full bodied with a moderate amount of glycerol texture / mouthfeel.
I was expecting reasonably good things from this wine, but it has exceeded expectations. Good wine.
Cheers
