G'day
This is the 'standard' black-labelled wine. There's a couple of higher-ranked chardonnays in the portfolio, but this is where it all started. It's a six=pack buy for me each year.
Pale lemon in the glass. A little struck-match and yeast initially, then a nose full of lemon-lime and cedary oak. There's stone fruits, especially juicy yellow peaches, alongside tangy citrus on the palate. Oak is noticeable, but in the background somewhat, and the acid keeps it refreshing.
Overall, both the nose and the palate are quite intense, and there's reasonable length as well. All this bodes well for a young wine that should go well for a few years at least.
Cheers
