TN: Scagliola Sansi 'Mati' Barbera D'Asti 2020 DOCG

G'day
The website tells me this is fermented in stainless steel and bottled young. Bright ruby in colour.
The nose shows lots of fresh fruit aromas initially - blue and blackberry and red cherries. With a bit of air, there's a touch of earthiness as well.
The palate was also initially all fresh fruit, but with a little air, some depth came out - earth and a viscous texture that wasn't there before. Tannins are prominent and grippy and acid is quite high. Add 14.5% alcohol to the mix, and a reasonable length, and what started as a light-bodied wine has filled out quickly, and become more enjoyable.
Cheers
Allan
