TN: Paul Conti Mariginiup Shiraz 2018.

G'day
This is the top red from the Conti portfolio, "made from low-yielding hand-picked shiraz from selected blocks, including the family's Mariginiup vineyard established in 1958". At just over $30, the value for money equation speaks for itself.
Purple black in colour. The nose is showing ripe red plums, raspberries, cranberry, mocha and lots of savoury oak. There's also a port-like character. The palate is full and rich, with more red and darker berries, some Christmas cake, and more mocha. Tannins are fine grained and drying, and acid is soft. The finish is long and the wine is full bodied.
This is a good example of warm climate shiraz, and has been consistently so for many years.
Cheers
Allan
