TN: Gilberts Reserve Shiraz 2012

G'day
Gilberts is a small winery at the northen end of the Great Southern wine region. I've been buying their riesling and reserve shiraz for years.
Purple black in colour. Quite a rich nose of dark plums, blueberries, licorice, eucalypt and cedary oak. The palate is juicy, with the dark fruits flooding the tongue. Acid and tannins are present but in supporting roles only, and there's a savoury oaky character on the back palate. Quite a long finish.
Unlikely to improve (at 12 years of age) but perfectly good drinking now.
Cheers
Allan
