TN: Mazza Cinque - The Five 2016

Post by Waiters Friend »

G'day

This wine, from the Geographe region in WA, is made from five different Spanish / Portuguese varieties - Graciano, Tinta Cao, Touriga National, Sousao and Tempranillo.

Deep purple in colour, with a mix of blackberry, mulberry, raspberry, graphite and violets or roses. An interesting palate with a mix of tar, liquorice, blackberries, tangy red fruits, and more graphite. Acid is soft and juicy, and tannins are grippy. The wine finishes reasonably long and a mix of fruit sweetness and savoury.

I don't have a lot of experience with this wine, but I imagine it's unlikely to improve greatly from here. It will be a good mix with tomato based pasta dishes.

Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
