G'day
This wine is from the Australian collection within the M&B portfolio. Fruit comes from two vineyards in the Great Southern region. 14.5% alcohol.
Deep purple in colour. An inviting nose with soft plummy fruits, alongside raspberries and blueberries. There's cloves and maybe a little nutmeg as well as some mocha. The palate is also fairly soft, but not lacking in flavour - there's a wash of blue and red fruits over moderately grippy tannins, and acid in a soft supporting role. Reasonable length.
Overall, a surprisingly satisfying wine - while I have focussed on 'soft' to some degree, there's enough complexity to keep it interesting, and it is easy drinking enough to guarantee I will be pouring another glass.
Cheers
Allan
