G'day

This is from M&B's Australian collection - there's a Burgundy collection as well. The grapes for this wine are from the Great Southern region, and 2018 was a top vintage in W.A.

Pale yellow in colour - quite light for a 6 year old chardonnay. The nose is fruit-dominant, with lots of yellow peach, nectarine. preserved lemon, and grapefruit up front, supported by cedar, vanilla and grilled cashew nuts. The palate has a savoury element sitting alongside the fruit, and the oak is a little more noticeable here. There's a textural element also, with a creamy and almost tannic grip, and the wine finishes quite long and even.

Lots going on in the glass, and my notes may not adequately reflect the layers and complexity. Very good chardonnay from a very good year.

Cheers
Allan
