TN: Frankland Estate Isolation Ridge Shiraz 2017

G'day
Frankland Estate is possibly one of the most isolated wineries in Australia. Their shiraz generally reflects a more elegant rather than full bodied style. The 14.5% alcohol is barely noticeable.
Deep purple in colour. Perfumed nose of dark juicy plums and a little blueberry. There's some timber polish, eucalpyt, clove, and nutmeg. The palate is silky and textural, while still light on its feet. The plums and dark fruits flow nicely along the tongue, along with some cocoa or mocha, and tannins are quite well integrated while providing some grip.
The wine finishes quite long without lots of apparent palate weight. Elegant is probably the correct descriptor. Very well balanced and satisfying.
Cheers
